Successful Objection against development on site of Nat West building.

CWRA 's planning rep, along with many other objectors have prevented a development of nine flats
at 96-98 Brighton Road i.e. the old Nat West building in the centre of Coulsdon.
What follows is an extract of the decision document.

"The proposed development, by reason of its proposed scale, design, bulk,
form and massing, and failure demonstrate how the design would respond to
the existing character/massing, would fail to respect and positively respond
to the original building and established local character of the Brighton Road
streetscene, and would visually detract from the coherent pattern of this
section of the Brighton Road streetscape, contrary to Chapter 12 of the
National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), Policy 7.4 and 7.6 of the
London Plan (2016), provision of Policy DM10 of the Croydon Local Plan
(2018) and Supplementary Planning Document: Suburban Design Guide
(2019)."
